Antique Store Outing

As mentioned in the previous post, I'm somewhat of a deltiologist. Fancy for "I collect postcards."

Well Jehovah must've been smiling on me because take a gander at what I found in an antique store today:

That's right. A POSTCARD of "Judge" Joseph Franklin Rutherford, 2nd president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, aka the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Now this postcard was not out in the open. It was mixed in with six or seven other postcards, in a baggy, on this twirly metal display rack, in the back of an old antique store in a small town in Georgia. The entire bag was priced pretty cheap so I just snapped it up.

Now, I was so excited about this find that I neglected to really look at the rest of the postcards.

When I got into the car, and looked closer, this is what I found:

Well, I liketa died.

Good news, though. Had I actually died, perhaps I would have come back with other faithful men of old to live in this 10-bedroom mansion in San Diego, aka Beth Sarim. We could have sported around town in our 16-cylinder Cadillac, the wind blowing through our prophetical hair.

Its been speculated by some Witnesses throughout history that things purchased at yard sales, antique stores or other used-item outlets might actually harbor malicious spirits.

I just hope I don't wake up in the middle of the night with the "Judge" standing over me.
